Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Americas President and CEO to

Participate in Regional U.S./Japan Association Conference

David Walsh to be joined by Japan’s Consul General and former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice

(Lake Mary, FL – November 9, 2015) - David Walsh, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Americas, Inc. (MHPSA) will be a special guest speaker at the Annual Joint Meeting of the Southeast U.S./Japan (SEUS/Japan) and Japan-U.S. Southeast Associations.  Mr. Walsh will address the gathering on Monday, November 16th at the Sheraton Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama joining other industrial and governmental leaders and dignitaries including Japan’s Consul General Kazuo Sunaga and former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

The invitation was extended by the Florida Delegation of SEUS/Japan and acknowledges Mr. Walsh’s leadership role at MHPSA where he is responsible for the company’s business operations throughout the Western Hemisphere.

Mr. Walsh joined MHPSA in 2001 and established the company’s service and manufacturing business, bringing strategic vision, creativity, and team-building expertise to the company. Appointed to his current position of President and CEO in 2014, he is a corporate officer of MHPSA’s parent company, Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, Ltd., in Japan.

Vision Forward

Mr. Walsh’s remarks will focus on future trends in U.S.-Japan energy trade, a multi-billion dollar component of our nation’s economy and will reflect on the ever increasing demand for clean, reliable, and efficient power in our 21st Century Information Age economy.

The three day conference affords attendees from Florida’s business community to meet with executive level business leaders from Japan’s leading firms and groups.  Boasting the world’s third largest economy in recent years, Japan has ranked as Florida’s top Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) country with as much as $4.1 billion reported in 2011, providing employment for some 25,000 Floridians.  MHPSA itself employs nearly 900 Floridians.

Mr. Walsh stated, “I am honored to be counted among these business leaders and government officials from both nations who share the belief that the extraordinary economic and technological leadership of these two democracies is far greater than the sum of its parts. From job creation to industrial innovation, MHPSA is a prime example of the power of international partnerships benefiting both nations. I look forward to exploring this topic with executives and diplomats as there has never been a greater need to expand these economic synergies.”
